Canada’s National Energy Board has introduced an online pipeline map in English and French that tracks a total of 642 pipeline incidents, 45 of them considered major, since 2008.
“This new and interactive tool offers Canadians the ability to learn more about pipeline incidents and the companies involved,” said NEB Chair Peter Watson. “It also demonstrates the NEB’s increasing commitment to transparency.”
The map “includes customizable filters and incident details including location, company, and volumes released to ensure that Canadians get the information they want, when and where they want it,” Cleantech Canada reports. Data will be updated quarterly, beginning in July 2015.
