Ecuadorean villagers now have the right to sue Chevron and its Canadian subsidiary in an Ontario court to enforce a US$9.5 billion judgement from Ecuador, ruled the Supreme Court of Canada earlier this
month. The Globe and Mail reports that the ruling has major implications for Canadian multinational companies whose business activities raise environmental or human-rights concerns.
