Tesla Motors has announced a five-year partnership with Dalhousie University lithium ion pioneer Dr. Jeff Dahn, the company’s first research agreement with a Canadian post-secondary institution.
“Our research group’s goal is to increase the energy density and lifetime of Li-ion batteries, so we can drive down costs in automotive and grid energy storage applications,” Dahn said. “This collaboration with Tesla is a natural fit, and we look forward to working together,” added Martha Crago, Dalhousie’s vice-president of research.
