Thanks, John. It isn’t a straightforward answer. As you say, gas prices vary — not just over time, but by time of day and local conditions. And solar costs depend on the project and location. But one of the best arguments for solar+storage (or wind+storage) is that building the new capacity and storing electricity off-peak is cheaper than running a gas peaker plant when demand and prices are both at the maximum.
I haven’t seen anything published on how that plays out in Saskatchewan — or in a community 80 kilometres north of Estevan — but this was the story for Alberta and Ontario a little while back: https://www.theenergymix.com/wind-and-solar-cheaper-than-gas-plants-in-ontario-and-alberta-study-shows/

( I know natural price changes) Just on average. Also cost on Coal My opinion coal should be gone too much pollution.
What ever information you have would be help full.

I once heard 3 to 4 cents on solar over time. Solar farm production
Gas varies from 6 to 12 cents? told that a few years ago.
Coal ? I understand is more expensive
I would like some factual number from reliable sources.
